Nikki Simons

Board of Governors

Nikki completed her Bachelor of Arts in 1999 followed by an Honours Degree in Psychology in 2000.  Nikki then went on to gain experience working in remedial schools, special needs schools, crisis centres, and mainstream schools in South Africa as well as the United Kingdom.  After completing her Masters Degree, Nikki worked in both the government and private sector.  She opened up a private practice in 2010 in Ballito.  Over the years, Nikki has worked with a wide variety of individuals with psychiatric, mental, and behavioural disorders.  Nikki has additional experience and a special interest in the Autism Spectrum and related disorders.  She offers developmental and diagnostic assessments, educational assessments, social skills training, play therapy, individual psychotherapy, parent counselling, support groups, and training and supervision for colleagues and schools.  Nikki has authored the Buddy Club social skills programme and co-facilitates these groups. Nikki also co-facilitates the Autism Project Course and has trained numerous allied and education professionals around the country.  Nikki operates her own practice and employs 4 Psychology staff members who are able to provide a variety of specialized and additional psychotherapeutic services.
